A national team plays a match in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers without goalkeepers
Kyrgyzstan national football team was forced to play a World Cup qualifying match with a goalkeeper, after the three goalkeepers of the national team were subjected to self-isolation due to Corona. Kyrgyzstan defender Isar Akmatov played in the goalkeeper’s position, and conceded one goal in the match against Mongolia (0-1), scored by Oyunbatarin Majiduri, in the 34th minute for the visitors. After this defeat, the balance of Kyrgyzstan stopped at 7 points, and it occupies third place in Group F, while Mongolia is at the bottom of the standings with 6 points. Japan leads the group with the full mark, with 21 points from 7 matches, and qualified for the third round of the qualifiers. Tajikistan is ranked second with 10 points from 7 matches as well. The top four teams in the qualifiers qualify directly to the third round, which is scheduled to start next September, in addition to the four best second-placed teams.
