After his two goals against Saint Germain, Mahrez achieves historic records in the Champions League
Algerian Riyad Mahrez, Manchester City star, achieved many historical records after scoring a double for his team against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Mahrez starred by scoring the two goals in minutes 11 and 63.
The Algerian star scored the winning goal for his team in the first leg last week in Paris (2-1).
According to “Opta” global statistics network, Mahrez became the second player to score for an English team back and forth in the Champions League semi-finals, after Senegalese Sadio Mane with Liverpool in the 2017-2018 season.
Riyad Mahrez also scored his tenth goal in the Champions League, more than any other Algerian player throughout the history of the competition.
Mahrez became the first Arab player in the history of the European Champions League to score in the round-trip semi-finals of the continental competition.
Mahrez also became the first player in Manchester City’s history to score a brace in a Champions League semi-final match.
Mahrez became the third African player to score a brace in the Champions League semi-finals, after Ivorian Didier Drogba and Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the star of Liverpool.
