Brighton player helps police investigate a crime

Premier League football club Brighton & Hove Albion said one of its players is helping police with an investigation into an alleged crime. Sky Sports reported that the player, whose name has not been released for legal reasons, was arrested at a nightclub in Brighton. Sussex Police said in a statement: “Two men have been arrested after a woman reported sexual assault at a venue in Brighton in the early hours of Wednesday. A man in his forties and a man in his twenties, both from Brighton, have been arrested on suspicion of committing a crime They were sexually assaulted and remain in police custody at this time.” The club said it was aware that “one of its players is assisting the police in an investigation into an alleged crime”. “The matter is subject to legal procedures and therefore the club is unable to make further comments at this time
