Corona brings the Saudi victory closer to a new deal
The board of directors of Al Hilal, headed by Fahd bin Nafel, continues its moves to strengthen the team’s ranks in the current summer transfer period, and to fulfill the demands of Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim.
Jardim’s demands do not stop only at strengthening the ranks of the players, but the departure of others, including the former Italian international Sebastian Giovinco, nicknamed “The Atomic Ant”, and a strong candidate to return to the Italian stadiums after 6 years of absence.
According to the Scottish newspaper, the Celticbhoys, Al Hilal hopes to include Ryan Christie, the attacking midfielder, in the ranks of Celtic, and is counting on coach Jardim to succeed in persuading the player to accept the idea of moving to the Saudi League.
Celtic, in turn, welcome the idea of Christie’s departure, although the 26-year-old has been an important component of the squad for the past three years, but the amount offered by Al Hilal prompted the Scottish team to welcome the idea of selling him.
It is noteworthy that Christie managed to score 40 goals while providing 41 assists with the Scottish team.
In the event of success in the inclusion of Christie, the Blue of Riyadh will work to get rid of Giovinco this summer.
Giovinco (34 years old) was outside Al Hilal’s list in the AFC Champions League (group stage), in exchange for the entry of Argentine Luciano Vieto.
It is noteworthy that Giovinco’s contract ends with Al Hilal in June 2022, and the player contributed to the historic Al-Azraq trilogy by achieving the AFC Champions League, in addition to the League and King’s Cup.
