Denmark-Belgium match suspended to honor Eriksen

Denmark and Belgium players stopped the match that is currently taking place between them in the second round of Group B matches of the European Football Championship (Euro 2020), in the tenth minute, in honor of the Danish star Christian Eriksen, who is recovering from a heart attack. Eriksen, wearing the No. 10 shirt, collapsed in Denmark’s opening game against Finland last Saturday as he was taken to hospital. All 25,000 players and fans at Parken stadium applauded and chanted Eriksen’s name, as the Danes warmed up with their number 10 shirts in the back, while fans unveiled a banner reading “All Denmark is with you, Christian.” Eriksen, 29, is being treated in a hospital just a few hundred meters from the stadium.
