European Cup: 14,000 spectators per match in Munich

Munich: On Friday, the Bavarian authorities gave the green light to attend 14,000 spectators per match at the “Allianz Arena” in Munich in the European Football Cup finals scheduled from June 11 to July 11. “Bavaria is in better shape, normalcy is back, with strict health protocol, tests and masks, the stadium will be 20 percent full, or about 14,000 spectators,” regional government head Markus Söder said. The Bavarian capital is scheduled to host the three matches of Germany in the first round against France on June 15, Portugal on June 19 and Hungary on the 23rd of the same month, in addition to a quarter-final match scheduled for July 2. The Germany-France match will be the first to welcome fans in Munich since playing behind closed doors in March 2020, as Bayern Munich have never played in front of their supporters since then. Neither Bavaria nor the city of Munich has committed to this day to receive fans in the European Cup, despite the demands of the European Union for the game (Wifa) not to organize any match in the tournament in an empty stadium.
