Iran ousts Bahrain from Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers
The Iranian team eliminated the dreams of its Bahraini counterpart to continue its qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after defeating it 3-0 in the meeting that brought them together today, Monday. Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun scored two consecutive goals for his country, in the 54 and 61 minutes, and then his fellow striker Mahdi Tarmi scored the third goal, by the 79th minute of the match that took place at the Bahrain International Stadium. The Iranian team achieved its second victory in a row and its fourth in these qualifiers, with two defeats, to raise its score to 12 points from 6 matches, and clinch the position of the recipe in the third group with a goal difference from its Bahraini counterpart, who played more games and fell to third place, and was eliminated from the competition for Qualification to the third round of qualifiers. While Iraq leads the group standings with 14 points, after beating Cambodia (4-1) earlier in the day as well.
