Italy crush San Marino with seven clean preparations for the European Nations Cup
Italy showed its strong preparations for the European Championship, after they crushed San Marino 7-0 in a friendly match, on Friday. Coach Roberto Mancini’s team struggled to outperform the modest opponent at the start of the match in Sardinia, until captain Federico Bernardeschi opened the scoring in the 31st minute, then Sassuolo defender Gian Marco Ferrari added the second goal three minutes later in his first international match. Matteo Politano turned the score to 3-0, four minutes after the start of the second half, and Andrea Belotti added the fourth goal brilliantly, and Matteo Pescina scored the fifth minutes later. And with a superb shot from Politano and a close-range shot from Pescina, Italy completed its victory with seven clean. Italy will play another friendly match against the Czech Republic, next Friday in Bologna, before starting its campaign in the European Championship, which starts on June 11 and runs until July 11. Italy opens its tournament against Turkey, before facing Switzerland and Wales.
