Locatelli double leads Italy to the round of 16
Manuel Locatelli scored a double for the first time in his career to help dazzling Italy beat Switzerland 3-0 at the Olympic Stadium in Rome to become the first to advance to the last 16 of the European Football Championship. Midfielder Locatelli, 23, opened the scoring with an easy cross from Sassuolo teammate Domenico Berardi and doubled the lead with a shot on the edge of the penalty area early in the second half. Ciro Immobile added the third goal before the end to complete the second successive victory for his country with the same result in the tournament, thus extending a streak of 29 matches without defeat, including victory in the last 10 matches, during which she scored 31 goals and conceded one.
