Loss for the Qatari beach volleyball team
The first Qatari beach volleyball team, consisting of Sherif Younes and Ahmed Tejan, received its first loss against the Netherlands team, consisting of Alexander Breuer and Robert Mawson, with a score of two games without a response, with results (16-21 and 18-21) during the meeting that brought the two teams together in the round. The third of Group B competitions in the 2021 Beach Volleyball World Tour Finals (men and women) in its sixth edition, which concludes in Sardinia, Italy, with the participation of 10 teams competing for prize money amounting to $800,000. This is the second time that the World Tour finals are held in Southern Europe after the last edition in 2019, which was held in Rome. Our national team (first ranked in the world) had two wins in the second group, over the Russian team, consisting of duo Ilya Lychukov and Konstantin Semenov, with a score of two games, with results (21-14 and 21-8), and the Italian team, consisting of the duo, Adrian Ignacio Carambola-Raurich, And Enrico Rossi, with two sets to one, with results (16-21, 23-21, 15-10). This participation is the first for the Qatari team after achieving a historic achievement by winning the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which were concluded recently in Japan last August. The delegation of the Qatari team includes Mohamed Anbar Al-Nasser, director of the Qatar national team and a member of the beach volleyball committee, Argentine national team coach Mariano Paracetti, his assistant Pablo Bernardi, and therapist Arnel Cruz, in addition to the two stars of the national team Sherif Younes and Ahmed Tejan.
