Marwijk satisfied with team UAE performance.

Doha: UAE coach Bert van Marwijk (pictured) on Tuesday said he was satisfied with the performance of his team in the opening match of the 24th Arabian Gulf Championship against Yemen.

Two-time winners UAE, helped by a hat-trick by Ali Mabkhout, registered an emphatic 3-0 win over Yemen to begin their Gulf Cup campaign on a winning note at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on Tuesday.

With the win, UAE along with Iraq, which defeated hosts Qatar 2-1 in the opening match of the tournament, collected full points in the Group A matches played

“Our team showed up well in different positions and we could have scored more than three goals,” he said at the post match press conference .
