The English Premier League revealed, on Tuesday, the list of nominees for the award for the best player in the competition for the 2020-2021 season. The Egyptian international, Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, was among the list that included seven other players alongside him, according to a statement published by the association on its website. Salah competes with top scorer Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur striker, Portuguese Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes, and fellow Manchester City defender Robin Diaz, accompanied by his Belgian colleague Kevin De Bruyne. The list also included, Mason Mount, the Chelsea midfielder, Tomas Sucic from West Ham United, and Jack Grealish, the midfielder of Aston Villa. Salah participated in 37 games during the last season, during which he scored 22 goals and assisted five others, and came second with one goal difference from Kane. While De Bruyne and Diaz were one of the mainstays in the City squad that won the league title and reached the Champions League final. While Suchek and Grealish are the least likely to win the award, the great efforts made by Mount and Fernandes with Chelsea and United stand out, which may make them fierce competitors for it.
