On a quiet fire .. Details of an exchange deal between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid
The Spanish sports newspaper, “Marca”, revealed the details of a reciprocal deal “on a quiet fire”, which Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are negotiating during the current summer transfers.
The deal relates to the return of Antoine Griezmann to the La Liga champion, with Saul Niguez moving to the Catalan team, and “Marca” said that Atletico Madrid is not in a hurry with regard to the two possible transfers.
According to the newspaper, “Atletico Madrid will be happy to get Griezmann back, but he is in no hurry to make an exchange deal in which he abandons Saul.”
And “Marca” stressed that Barcelona is keen to urgently remove Griezmann from the wage bill, before officially renewing the contract with his first star, Lionel Messi, expected within days.
Since he moved to the Camp Nou two seasons ago, the French star has not performed the expected performance with Barcelona.
And media reports have spoken in recent days about the possibility of Barcelona suggesting the names of other players in the possible exchange deal with Atletico.
Reports revealed that it is about Mario Hermoso and Renan Lodi, who fit closely with the mentality of Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.
The name of the Portuguese star, Joao Felix, was also talked about, but Atletico did not want to dispense with the player, according to “Marca”.
It seems that the deal may take some time, as it is believed to be somewhat complicated according to reports, as not only the two clubs have to agree, but the players also have to agree on terms.
