Osaka withdraws from the French Open tennis championship

Japan’s Naomi Osaka announced her withdrawal from the French Open on Monday after her decision to boycott media commitments after matches in the tournament. Osaka was fined $ 15,000 from the tournament organizers for failing to attend a press conference after winning the first round. Osaka, 23, issued a statement on her Twitter account, saying: “I think the best thing for the tournament and for the rest of the players is for me to withdraw, so everyone can focus on tennis.”
