Real Madrid sweep Granada and ignite the struggle for the title “LaLiga”
The Real Madrid team ignited the struggle for the title of the Spanish Football League champion, by beating its host Granada (4-1), in the match that brought them together on Thursday evening, as part of the 36th round of the “LaLiga”.
Croatian star Luka Modric put the royal team ahead with an early goal, scored in the 17th minute, and his fellow Brazilian striker Rodrigo doubled the score in the last minute of the first half.
Veteran striker Jorge Molina (37 years) reduced the score for the owners of the land, scoring their first goal by the 71st minute. But defender Alvaro Odriozola expanded the lead again for the “Merengue” after just four minutes, and his colleague, French striker Karim Benzema, concluded the four guests in the next minute.
Real Madrid raised its score after this victory to 78 points, and advanced to second place in the league standings, two points ahead of its traditional rival Barcelona, who fell in a draw against Levante (3-3) last Tuesday.
While Atletico Madrid are at the top of the “LaLiga” with 80 points.
As for Granada, it occupies tenth place on the league standings, with 45 points.
