The French Football Federation announced, on Monday, the exclusion of striker Ousmane Dembele from the French national team participating in the European Championship 2020, due to an injury. Dembele was injured during France’s 1-1 draw with Hungary in the Group F competition, Saturday, after he participated as a substitute for one of his colleagues and clearly reinforced his team’s attack. “Osmane Dembele underwent an X-ray at a hospital in Budapest on Saturday evening,” the French Football Federation said in a statement, without revealing further details about the injury. The statement added: “The recovery period will exceed the period of his presence in the squad. After consultations between the player and the team doctor, coach Didier Deschamps decided to exclude Ousmane Dembele from participating in the remainder of the tournament,” according to “Reuters”. Deschamps still has a lot of attacking options such as Olivier Giroud, Kingsley Coman and Wissam Ben Yedder, along with the mains Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe. France leads Group F with four points from the first two matches, one point ahead of Portugal and Germany, and three points ahead of Hungary. France, the world champions, will meet in their last group game, the defending champion, Portugal, next Wednesday.
