Spain stumbles with a draw with Poland in the European Championship

Alvaro Morata scored a goal in the first half, and Robert Lewandowski equalized after the break, to leave Spain with a 1-1 draw with Poland in the European Football Championship 2020, and all the teams in Group E still have a chance to qualify. Morata scored the lead for Spain in the 25th minute after he met a pass from Gerard Moreno inside the penalty area. The assistant referee initially counted an offside to postpone the players’ celebration, before the video assistant referee intervened and calculated the goal. Lewandowski equalized with an elegant header after a pass from Kamil Jogwiak in the 54th minute. Four minutes later, Moreno hit a penalty kick for Spain that bounced off the post and then missed Morata an opportunity to follow the ball, in addition to some other opportunities. Sweden maintained the top spot in Group E with four points, then Slovakia had three points, and Spain came third with two points, compared to Poland by one point. In the last round, next Wednesday, Sweden will play Poland, while Spain will play Slovakia.
