The first World Beach Games – Qatar 2019
Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, announced the opening of the first edition of the World Beach Games, which will be hosted by the Qatari capital Doha with wide international participation.
At the outset, he presented an introductory film about the tournament, followed by the entry of the participants in the tournament, followed by welcoming speeches and the speech of the organizing committee by Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee and Director General of the Organizing Committee of the World Beach Games. Mitchell, acting president of the National Olympic Committee (ANOC), made the speech, after which the players and referees took the oath.
More than 1,200 athletes representing 97 Olympic committees from five continents participated in the World Beach Games, competing in 14 competitions in four locations: Katara, Aspire Zone and Al Gharafa.
Participants will compete in the Aquathlon, 3×3 basketball, synthetic rock climbing, beach handball and karate, paragliding, water skiing, gardening, beach football, 5km open water swimming, beach tennis, beach volleyball, water skiing, beach wrestling and jumping. Surfing on water.
